IIFA nomination for Papon

GUWAHATI, May 31 - Singer Angaraag (Papon) Mahanta has been nominated in the best male singer category in the prestigious International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), 2016, nominations which were announced on May 27.

At the IIFA, 2016, which will take place in Madrid, Spain from June 23 to 26, the Anu Malik creation Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, sung by Papon, is up against Bollywood�s celebrated singer Arijit Singh who got nominated for two songs � Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Sooraj Dooba. The final award ceremony will be held on June 25.

Papon�s rendition of Moh Moh Ke Dhaage from the film Dum Laga Ke Haishya has been loved by fans and critics alike. The song has also won Monali Thakur nomination in the best female singer category at IIFA, 2016.

�It is a great feeling to see that such a poignant song has been appreciated so much. Its melody has stayed with people and it�s always a pleasure to be able to sing such songs,� said Papon who is currently touring the US with Bollywood actor and singer Farhan Akhtar.
