GUWAHATI, April 11 - CRPF has been nominated as the nodal security agency in the state of Assam and IG, CRPF, NE Sector is the state force coordinator for Assam, according to an official press release issued here today,
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the State with due consultation with the state police and civil administration. General observers and police observers also have been apprised of the same.
All the polling staff and security personnel have been dispatched to their respective destinations. Moreover, adequate numbers of mobiles, flying squads and striking reserves have been planned, the press release said.
Meanwhile, the IG CRPF has appealed to the electorate of Assam to participate in the parliamentary election in large numbers in all the three phases due on April 11, 18 and 23, the release added.
