IMPHAL, July 29 - The Road Opening Party of 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Imphal Airport on Saturday evening, Assam Rifles sources said.
�Bomb Disposal team of Assam Rifles was immediately pressed into action along with the police,� said Assam Rifles (South) in a press release. �All vehicles moving along the road were stopped at a safe distance to prevent any casualty.
The IED was destroyed safely 45 minutes after its detection. The IED comprised of 500 gm of explosives (Neogel-90) and was found with detonator and nails. An FIR has been registered at Singjamei Police Station.
