By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, Oct 9 - Dr Himangshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, spoke on Shaping Young Leaders and Dr Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU spoke on NEP 2020: Giving wings to the students while addressing fresh students of the Royal Global University (RGU) online on Friday, said a press release here.

Dr Rai urged the students to listen to the advice of others but never live others version of life thereby losing their identity. He urged them to identify their potential and never fear to dream. He said failure is never fatal as it is a combination for success. On leadership, he said the present times seek a shift from leadership to leaders which is a process whereby a true leader leads from the front by influencing others and communicating well.

Addressing the common dilemma between ethics and morality, Dr Rai reminded the students of the power of an ethical mindset. He then moved on to mention the five principles of leadership know yourself; be a professional; take and seek responsibility; use your full capabilities and make the right decisions. He summed up saying, Learn from everyone and everything in this world; learn to train your thoughts and emotions and take care of elders.

Dr Mittal highlighted the benefits the students can reap now onwards from the National Education Policy (NEP) that lays stress on transformations to establish a transparent system that is student-centric and designed to be primarily beneficial to the students. Advising the students to always have fire and passion to learn, be consistent, recognise their competencies, compete in themselves while investing in team-work, she assured them that, with the future being of blended learning and technological advancement being the crux of peoples lives, NEP 2020 would generate multi-faculty universities that would grant students freedom to choose a basket of courses of their liking.
