GUWAHATI, Aug 31 � The identification of the patta holders who were displaced during the recent group clashes in the Bodoland Territorial Administrative Districts (BTAD) area would be done by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) authorities within September 6 next for the purpose of rehabilitation.
This was conveyed by the Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Prithivi Majhi, to the Chief Minister formally here today. The GoM had a formal meeting here today.
Official sources here said that the Chief Minister was also informed that the August 29 meeting of the GoM with the leaders of the BTC decided to rehabilitate the genuinely displaced persons of the BTAD area.
The Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner (DC), in consultation with his counterpart in Dhubri, would take back the displaced persons of Kokrajhar, who are now staying in Dhubri, to their native district.
On the other hand, the Dhubri DC, in consultation with his counterpart in Kokrajhar would take back the displaced persons of Dhubri now staying in Kokrajhar to their places of origin, said a resolution of the August 29 meeting.
The BTC was authorised to rehabilitate the genuinely displaced persons and for the purpose, revenue records are to be checked. The Chief Minister was informed of all these decisions too, sources said.
