IMPHAL, April 12 - Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has extended his warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Cheiraoba festival, which falls on April 13.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister stated: �I greet the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba which falls on April 13. Cheiraoba festival marks the parting of the old year and the onset of the New Year. On this auspicious day, the youngsters seek the blessing of the elders for a long happy life. I join the people of Manipur in celebrating the festival and convey my sincere wish that the New Year will herald an era of peace, prosperity and progress for all of us.�
Manipur Lok Sabha MP, Dr Thokchom Meinya also greeted the people saying, �May this New Year bring peace, harmony and prosperity to the State of Manipur.�
