IAS, SSC coaching centre opened in Aizawl

AIZAWL, April 6 - Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on Sunday inaugurated the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Coaching Centre set up by the Mizoram Government through Mizoram Youth Commission at Primary School I, Dinthar II here in the state capital Aizawl. This is one of the initiatives of the State Government to make a new world for the youth, the Chief Minister said.

He said that the contribution of Mizos in the Indian Army and Central Services was commendable before the insurgency period of Mizoram, but has declined after it, he added. Mentioning that fellow Mizos in Manipur are now serving in high posts in the central government through Staff Selection Commission, the Chief Minister advised the youth in the State to make the best use of the Coaching Centre.

While government is the biggest employer for the people in Mizoram, but number of jobs under the government is inadequate, so steps is being taken towards skill development to cater the employment need of the youth, the CM said.
