�I studied ten hours a day, but didn�t expect any rank�

GUWAHATI, June 6 - �The internet is really a useful tool for us. Especially, sources available in the internet helped me in preparing different science projects. But in case of social media, I am yet to understand its benefit,� said Ananya Medhi, who secured ninth rank in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination from the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay.

Ananya scored 100 marks each in General Mathematics and Advance Mathematics, 97 each in English and General Science, 96 in Social Science and 95 in Assamese. Her favourite subject was Mathematics.

During a conversation with The Assam Tribune, Ananya said she wants to be a doctor and has already enrolled in an online coaching course. She also loves to read books and also writes book reviews.

Talking about her preparation for the exams, she said, �After the test examination I used to study for about ten hours a day. But I never imagine that I would secure any rank. But I am yet to decide on the college in which I will enrol for the higher secondary course.�

Ananya admitted that the inspiration she got from her friends, parents, teachers and employees of the school played a big role in her success. She urged all her juniors to utilise their time in a proper way to achieve success in life.

Commenting on the success of his daughter-cum-student, Ghanashyam Medhi, the Principal of Assam Jatiya Bidyalay said, �Ananya is a sincere student and worked hard. So today she achieved success.�

This time, altogether 127 students took the HSLC Examination from the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay. All the students passed, with 111 securing first division and 16 securing second division. Among them, 37 scored distinction marks, 39 star marks, eight scored 100 in Advanced Mathematics and five scored 100 in General Mathematics.

Moreover, 50 students of the school secured letter marks in Assamese, 59 in English, 68 in General Mathematics, 60 in General Science, 49 in Social Science and 90 secured letter marks in different elective subjects.

Principal Medhi informed that his school�s performance this year is the same � hundred per cent � as in the previous year.
