I-League in Shillong from April 25

SHILLONG, April 21 � Security arrangements would be water-tight for the final leg of the 2nd Division I- League to be held here for the first time in the Northeast from April 25.

The 28 matches would be a treat for the football-loving fans of Shillong during the league. Eight teams would fight it out to qualify for the two spots in the 1st Division I-League. Apart from Shillong Lajong, AR Hima and Royal Wahingdoh are the other local teams in the league.

AR Hima and Royal Wahingdoh would kick off in the first match of the league on April 25. Each day, two matches would be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex (1.00 pm) and the SSA ground (3.15 pm) at Polo for the next 28 days.

Some of the teams to look out for in the tournament are obviously local outfits, Shillong Lajong, relegated from last year�s I-League, Sporting Club De Goa, Vasco SC and Kolkata giant Md Sporting trying to make a comeback to the top division.
