GUWAHATI, Aug 14 � The 66th Independence Day will be celebrated in the State tomorrow along with the rest of the country.
In Assam, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will hoist the National Tricolour at the Veterinary College playground at Khanapara around 9 am. The National Flag will also be officially unfurled in all the district headquarters.
Besides, preparations are also on to celebrate the occasion in various private and Government offices, defying the boycott call of the banned outfit. A number of localities have also planned a host of programmes to celebrate the occasion.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the State capital along with the rest of the State to avert any kind of untoward incident.
