KOKRAJHAR, Dec 17 � The 36th All Assam Inter-district Athletic Championship will be held from Tuesday with 22 sporting events in lower Assam�s Kokrajhar district.
Organising secretary Ajoy Kumar Basumatary, told newspersons today that over a thousand participants including technical officials and members of tournament committees were expected to participate in the event. The four-day championship would be held at Kokrajhar District Sports Association playground here at Kokrajhar town, Basumatary said.
The 22 events in the tournament were classified on age basis for boys and girls of under 14 years, 16 years, 18 years and 20 years, besides men and women above 20 years. Preparations were on in full swing and the venue would be ready on time on December 23 when a marathon race is scheduled to be held and to start from Serfanguri, he said.
