ITANAGAR, Feb 17 � Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) yesterday said that hydro power was the only sector which could generate revenue for self-sustenance for developing Arunachal in real sense.
The ruling party in the State said the State Government has followed the established norms and policies of the Central Government while signing the MoU with power developers for implementation of hydro projects.
Most sophisticated technologies are being used to ensure dam safety, the Congress said and asserted that mega dams will not pose any threat to mankind.
The party was reacting to the demand of the People�s Party of Arunachal for scrapping all MoUs signed with power developers for implementation of mega dams. The PPA had said that dams would displace indigenous communities and affect the rich bio-diversity of the State.
