By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Dec 21 - The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations will be held in the third week of February, 2018.

With preparations in full swing to conduct the examinations smoothly, the exact date would soon be announced by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).

This time, a total of 3,56,600 candidates are appearing for the HSLC and AHM examinations to be held in 852 centres across the State. Altogether 3,47,158 candidates are appearing for the HSLC exams, whereas 9,442 students would sit for the AHM exams this time, said SEBA controller of examinations Nayanjyoti Sarma.

The practical examination for 12 subjects would be held in January 22 and 24, 2018.

Like the previous year, the Board has arranged for digital evaluation of mathematics answer scripts. A total of 11 zones, having the required infrastructure for digital evaluation would be set up separately for mathematics other than the 34 zones for conducting the overall examinations.

To ensure strict vigil in the sensitive and hypersensitive centres, the SEBA has made a provision for flying squads monitoring such centres. The board has identified 71 such centres across the State.

The flying squads would be arranged by district-level supervision committees through the offices of deputy commissioners of all districts, SEBA sources said.
