HSDC charts out poll strategy

DIPHU, Jan 21 - With an aim to strengthen the party, a booth-level meeting was organised by Hill State Demand Council (HSDC) on Wednesday at Rongsopi, Matipung near Diphu. In the meeting, a poll strategy was prepared for ensuing Assembly elections.

Later, a public meeting was also held where senior party leaders, active workers, supporters and hundreds of general public of Matipung area participated. In the meeting, the former MP and leader of HSDC, Dr Jsyanta Rongpi, discussed various problems suffered by the people of Matipung area for a long time.

Addressing the gathering, Rongpi promised to sort out the problems faced by people of the Matipung area like availing land allocation and patta if he is elected in the Assembly elections.

Criticising the present Diphu MLA, Bidyasing Engleng, Dr Rongpi alleged that during his (Engleng) 15 years of MLA period, he could do nothing for the development in Diphu constituency.

The meeting was chaired by Hemson Rongpi, convenor of the HSCD, Dhansiri MAC Constituency Coordination Council and attended by MAC, KAAC Semson Tisso; Dr Mongve Rongpi, convenor of Students and Youth Council, youth wing of the HSDC with Robin Teron, KSA leader and former MLA Hemsing Tisso.
