GUWAHATI, June 3 - The results of the Higher Secondary final year examination, conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), will be declared on June 25.

The results, earlier slated to be declared within May 15 this year, got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council chairman Dayananda Borgohain told The Assam Tribune that the AHSEC is now prepared to announce the HS final year results on June 25. It needs mention here that the HSLC/AHM examination results, which also got delayed due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown, will be declared on June 6.

This year, approximately 2.34 lakh students sat for their HS final exams in Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational streams. The exams were held from February 12 to March 14 at 772 centres across the State.

Meanwhile, the AHSEC has already confirmed promotion of HS first year students to the next grade without conducting any examination. Online course content for the second year students is also being made available to the students through YouTube.

Last year, the HS final year exam results were declared on May 25, 2019, and this time we were planning to announce it within May 15. However, due to the present situation, the answer sheet assessment process got stalled, which was resumed with special measures to allow movement of teachers to the 48 evaluation zones, said the AHSEC chairman.

The AHSEC conducts examination into 86 subjects of different streams, including the practicals. The process, evidently, is extensive and a complex one. Even amid the crisis situation and the related difficulties, we have taken all possible measures to announce error-free results, he further mentioned.
