JORHAT, July 31 - Hemendra Prasad Barooah, noted tea planter, entrepreneur and philanthropist, was remembered by the employees of his companies at his Club Road residence, office and the Thengal Manor mansion in Jalukonibari here today on the occasion of his second death anniversary.

The regional sales manager of B&A Packaging India Limited, Gautam Bhattacharya said that floral tributes were paid on the photographs of Barooah and lamps were lit at the office of the Gatanga Tea Estate and also at the office of the packaging company here.

An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Barooah passed away on July 31, 2013, in Bangkok. His immense contributions to the State tea industry, art and culture were recounted by several citizens here on the occasion of the death anniversary.
