BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 26 � The air of Howajan under Gohpur subdivision in Sonitpur district reverberated with joy on Sunday with thousands of schoolchildren singing together Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa�s Ami Asomiya Nahou Dukhiya on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary celebration of the doyen of Assamese literature.

Around 5,000 students of 35 schools under Pub-Chaiduar Development Block and Dhalpur in Lakhimpur district in association with local people, NGOs and other organisations took part in the programme. The programme was organised by the Assam branch of the Sanskar Bharati at the playground of Howajan Higher Secondary School. The song was arranged by Tulasi Khataniar.

Eminent singer Pulak Banerjee, Sanskar Bharati organising secretary Hari Prasad Das, Prantiya Adhikari of Krishna Gakulam, Kumud Pathak, Nityananda Sharma, Jitu Borthakur and others were present on the occasion. In his speech, Pulak Banerjee praised the initiative undertaken by the Sanskar Bharati and the local people.

The programme ended with the singing of Sahityarathi�s another immortal masterpiece O Mor Aponar Desh.
