Hotels, resorts in Kaziranga to stay closed

KAZIRANGA, March 20 - In view of serious impact on human lives caused by coronavirus in India, most of the hotels and resorts in Kaziranga have decided to close down for a temporary period for the general safety of public health.

Most of the people of Kaziranga have preferred to remain indoors.

Bokakhat subdivisional administration has appealed to people of the subdivision to maintain personal hygiene and remain alert for any infection of coronavirus.

Local administration of Bokakhat has already taken steps to close down local Sunday Bazar in view of the appeal made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to follow �Janata Curfew� on March 22.

Speaking to this correspondent, Vikas Goswami, owner of a hotel in Kohora informed that they all are very concerned for the safety of general people and have decided to close down their hotels and resorts to check any spread of coronavirus in the State. He said that they would abide by the decision of the State government and do every needful to fight against Coronavirus.

President of Kohora Bazar Committee Rithon Saha informed that they have already asked some small tea shops and restaurants to close down for the safety of the people and added that all forms of necessary precautions as suggested by local administration have already been adopted to check coronavirus spread.

Basab Bora, officer-in-charge of Aaranya tourist lodge owned by ATDC said that any guest arriving from outside Assam have been advised to go for medical check up.
