Hot weather condition in NE persists

GUWAHATI, June 8 - Despite some local weather-related developments making the sky cloudy in some areas in the afternoon hours, the overall hot weather condition remained mostly unchanged in the NE region for the second day today. Sizzling heat persisted in the day hours today also, making life miserable for the common people in most areas of the region.

North Lakhimpur today recorded a day temperature of 38.8 degree Celsius, marking a departure of 7.4 degree Celsius from the normal for the day. Itanagar recorded a day temperature of 38.4 degree Celsius. However, its normal temperature in this respect was not available with the Borjhar-based Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here.

Guwahati today recorded a day temperature of 37.2 degree Celsius, which was 5.2 degree Celsius above normal for the day. Dibrugarh today recorded a maximum temperature of 36.7 degree Celsius, which was 5.6 degree Celsius above normal for the day.

Silchar and Jorhat both recorded 36.5 degree Celsius today. While for Silchar it was 5.3 degree Celsius above normal for the day, the normal for Jorhat in this respect was not available with the RMC.

Agartala today recorded a day temperature of 36 degree Celsius, which was 3.6 degree above normal for the day in this respect. Tezpur today recorded a day temperature of 35.5 degree Celsius and it was 3.7 degree Celsius above normal for the day.

Dhubri today recorded a day temperature of 35 degree Celsius and it was 3.5 degree Celsius above its normal for the day in this respect.

Imphal today recorded a day temperature of 33.6 degree Celsius and it was 4.2 degree above normal for the day. Aizawl today recorded a day temperature of 33.2 degree Celsius. But, its normal in this respect is not available with the RMC. Kohima recorded a day temperature of 28 degree Celsius today. Its normal temperature for the day is not available with the RMC as well.
