JORABAT, Feb 14 - �Real happiness lies in bringing smiles on others� lips. We are for the patients, not the patients are for us, and we should care for them with love,� said Dr MN Baruah, managing director of the North East Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (NECHRI), added appreciating the staff members of the institution on the occasion of Valentine�s Day today.
Led by Dr Gitartha Roy-medhi, NECHRI�s chief operating officer, the staff of the institution celebrated Valentine�s Day with a few critically ill cancer patients undergoing treatment there. They presented roses and fruits to the patients to mark the celebration.
�Valentine�s Day means the Day of Love. The critically ill patients are undergoing treatment in the hospital staying away from their families. We are the family for them during their stay in the hospital. Along with the treatment, we must deal and care for them with love just like a member of the family,� said Dr Roymedhi.
�To treat cancer, love should be mixed with treatment to keep the patient motivated and away from the fear of the disease,� Dr Roymedhi added.
