Hopeful of investments pouring in: Ranjit Dutta

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 20 - Assam expects investment in tourism, information technology, agriculture, food processing, power, pharmaceutical, bamboo and many other sectors from across the globe in the State�s first Global Investors Summit which is scheduled to be held from February 3 to 4 next, said Minister for Irrigation, Handloom and Textiles Ranjit Dutta.

Attending an awareness meeting-cum-seminar on �Advantage Assam: Global Investors Summit, February 3-4, 2018� held today at the BTC Secretariat conference hall at Kodomtola here, Minister Dutta also said that the vision of the summit is to build up an economic development model that links North East India with ASEAN member-nations and other countries across the globe.

At the same time, Dutta also informed that to attract investors, he recently visited countries like Vietnam and Laos and admittedly received positive response in this regard. More than 20 countries across the globe will participate in the summit, he speculated.

Assam as well as the BTC region has lots of vital advantages for business, for which I came here to invite the BTC Council for taking part in the summit, Duttta said.

Talking to mediapersons thereafter, BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyari said that the BTC Government will definitely participate in the summit.
