The sustained demand for the Navi, Honda has declared to multiply the production of the scooter. The Japanese automobile giant has decided it will take the production numbers to 1 lakh per annum at its factory in Rajasthan.

Honda Navi was initially launched at an Auto Expo in 2016 on experimental basis. Honda had no great expectation of its success, but the strange little bike was well accepted and the company was surprised at the reaction of the people. Already more than 15000 units of Navi have been sold since the time the company started deliver the vehicles for showroom sale.

Commenting on the motivation behind developing the Navi, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior VP, sales and marketing, HMSI said, "Our analysis showed that the percentage of youngsters buying into the 110cc segment was very small. We decided that there needs to be some fun element and uniqueness into the segment.

The scooter has been designed by the Indian R&D department of Honda, and is created on a new

platform. The Navi derives its 110cc single-cylinder engine from the Activa 3G. The vehicle costs lowest among Hondas range of automobiles. According to reports the company is planning to come up with more versions of the Navi, but the news is yet to be confirmed officially.
