GUWAHATI, May 18 - Swahid Jadav Nath Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Panjabari here distributed 500 bottles of homoeopathic prophylactic and immune boosting medicines against COVID-19 free of cost to employees of the Guwahati Refinery and their families through the Guwahati Refinery Workers� Union during an event held at the union�s office at Noonmati on Saturday, said a press release issued on Monday.
The medicines were distributed following an advisory issued by the Union Ministry of AYUSH as part of the fight against COVID-19.
Principal of Swahid Jadav Nath Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital Prof Dr Devajyoti Bhattacharyya attended the programme as chief guest and distributed the medicines. Dr Utpal Bordoloi, Medical Officer of the hospital, was also present along with Manik Chandra Das, working president of Guwahati Refinery Workers� Union; Simanta Das, its general secretary; Dr Dul Kumar Barman, Medical Officer of Guwahati Refinery and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhattacharyya said different state governments have issued orders to distribute homoeopathic prophylactic and immune boosting medicines against COVID-19 and that they have got better results after using such medicines at quarantine centres.
He said it is very easy to take the medicines and one has to take it once daily for three days in a month. Dr Bhattacharyya, however, advised that this medicine should be taken after consultation with qualified homoeopathic doctors.
