Hoax calls to 108 service down

GUWAHATI, Aug 12 � The latest GVK EMRI daily report published on August 9 has highlighted the fact that the number of hoax calls made to 108 services across the State has gone down considerably in the last week or so. An official release issued to the media has informed that of the total 7213 calls, GVK EMRI had attended 1,630 emergency calls, constituting 22.60 per cent of genuine calls. The positive change, according to the press release, has been witnessed especially after August 4 when the EMRI officials elaborated on the problem of hoax calls plaguing the services. The press release went on to inform though the total inflow of calls have decreased, the number of genuine or effective calls have increased.
