HKV down South Point to enter final

GUWAHATI, June 11 - Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya (HKV) marched into the final of the 12th Dhan Sena Sinha Memorial All Assam Inter School Cricket Tournament with a deserving two-wicket victory against South Point School.

In the first semifinal of the championship at the Latasil playground here today, being asked to bat first, South Point boys managed to gather 108 in 20 overs losing all the wickets. Riyan Parag was their top scorer with 42 while Anup Bhujel came out with a rich haul of four wickets for HKV.

In reply, the HKV batsmen had to wait till the last ball of the 20th over to reach the target.

Brief scores: South Point 108 (Riyan Parag 42, Sarangajyoti Deka 16, Anup Bhujel 4/29, Bobby Singh 2/15). HKV 109/8 (Ankit Singh 27, Sabpreet Singh 22, Anup Bhujel 16, Sarangajyoti Deka 3/16, Riyan Parag 2/15).
