History-sheeter with 16 stolen mobile phones nabbed

RAHA, July 6 - Raha Police today arrested a miscreant and recovered 16 stolen mobile handsets from his possession worth approximately Rs 1.5 lakh.

Moloy Kumar Acharjee, Officer In-charge of Raha Police Station told this Correspondent that the arrested youth, identified as Pranab Bora alias Gudung (22) was an inhabitant of Paschim Salmara village and is a daily wage earner.

Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed Pranab from his home while he was trying to sell mobile phones. �We received a tip-off about the thief in the morning and laid a trap and subsequently took him into custody�, the OC said.

During interrogation, he confessed to have broken the shutter of Sonika Mobile Shop at Raha Bazar area at night a few months ago and made away with 16 mobile handsets. He was also involved in a robbery case at Bishnu Mandir, Dharamtul under Neli police outpost, Acharjee further added.

The accused was booked under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.
