GUWAHATI, June 24 � Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will file a Rs 3-crore defamation case against Akhil Gogoi, secretary of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) who had recently alleged that Sarma had been gifted a luxury car by RH Khan, one of the prime accused in the NC Hills financial scam being probed by the CBI.
Sarma even declared that he would publicly self-immolate if the allegation is proved true.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Sarma said that in a democracy, everyone has the right to bring allegations, but those allegations must come with minimum evidence.
