Himanta slams Pradyut Bordoloi, appeals people to vote for BJP

By A CORRESPONDENT

NAGAON, April 9 - The State minister and NEDA leader Himanta Biswa Sarma today campaigned for BJP candidate for Nagaon parliamentary seat, Rupak Sarma, at Barhampur and also for AGP-BJP alliance candidate for Kaliabor constituency, Monimadhav Mahanta, at Samaguri in Nagaon.

Sarma, while addressing an election rally held at Barhampur, said even if BJP faces defeat in this election, his party will not go for any coalition with Badruddin Ajmal at any cost.

Criticising former Congress minister Pradyut Bordoloi who will fight from Nagaon constituency, Sarma said Bordoloi is a fallen soldier and appealed to the people of the constituency to vote in favour of BJP candidate Rupak Sarma who could speak for the constituency as well as its people.

He pointed out how Congress did politics on Lungi and Dhuti but it had been changed by the saffron party.

Drawing the attention of the people of the constituency, Sarma further said the former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh represented Assam for a long time and he never wore a gamusa around his neck but present Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore the States pride around his neck and introduced it to the entire world.

In the rally, Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain, BJP candidate Rupak Sarma, Jitu Goswami, Jugal Kishor Sarma and others were present.

Meanwhile, Sarma also took part in another election rally held at the Samaguri high school field in the afternoon and urged the people to make BJP a winner again.

Campaigning for AGP-BJP alliance candidate Monimadhav Mahanta on the last day of campaigning in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, Sarma today also said the people of Samaguri should need such a leader who could speak directly looking at Rokibul Hussains eyes and such a leader was none but Monimadhav Mahanta.

Ministers Keshab Mahanta and Pijush Hazarika, alliance candidate Monimadhav Mahanta and other party leaders were also present in the rally.
