GUWAHATI, June 1 � A complaint (Case No. 1624/13) has been filed before Judicial Magistrate (1st Class) Ipsita Borthakur by Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister, Health & Education, against Sudipta Sen, MD, Saradha Group for defamation V/S 499/500/501 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The complaint has been initiated by Sarma for making some �false and defamatory statements� against him through a letter purportedly issued by Sen to the CBI which was published in various newspapers on April 25.
The court has recorded Sarms�s initial deposition and fixed another date for an inquiry by the magistrate himself. The court has fixed June 16 for recording of the statements of other witnesses in the case. Angshuman Bora and Kishore Deka, advocates, appeared on behalf of Minister Sarma before the court.
