Himanta addresses rally at remote village in Udalguri dist

By CORRESPONDENT

UDALGURI, Nov 30 - You should only think about the future of your children and vote for BJP in the BTC polls. For BJP is the only national party concerned with the poor people. We have trusted the BPF for the last 17 years thinking that it would work for you. But it is disheartening to see that even the VCDC members keep your job cards with them and say that BPF works for their development. Where is development here? This was stated by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarmah, State Finance, Education and Health minister of Assam at an election rally held today at the remote Khusurabarihabi village along the Indo-Bhutan border falling under 38 Bhairabkunda constituency in Udalguri district.

Addressing the massive congregation of BJP supporters, Himanta flayed Hagramas style of functioning and said that people in the BTR are no more fools to be duped by false promises and will bring BJP to power in the region for greater interest of the masses.

The election rally held for the BJPs Bhairabkunda constituency candidate Birdau Basumatary was also addressed by Dilip Saikia, MP of Mangaldai HPC, while it was anchored by Ajay Hazarika, secretary of Udalguri district committee of BJP.

Later, the minister and the MP also addressed another election rally at Khoirabari for the party candidate.

Meanwhile, the BTR Gorkha Samaj in collaboration with the UPPL held a coordination meeting at Udalguri town today to chalk out strategies to deal the forthcoming BTC elections to be held in two phases, first on December 7 next in two districts of Udalguri and Baksa and on December 10 next in the districts of Kokrajhar and Chirang.
