GUWAHATI, May 3 � The Dona Planet Shop Owners Association on Thursday welcomed the Gauhati High Court stay order on the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) sealing of the entire Dona Planet based on the Advocate Commissioner report appointed by the Gauhati High Court.
The GMC had sealed the entire building on the ground that the parking norms were blatantly violated.
The association in a press conference today alleged that the GMC Commissioner was acting in favour of a vested interest group since December.
The association expressed the apprehension that there might be a political conspiracy behind this development. It also called upon the Chief Minister to take action against partisan officials.
The association has also decided to file a case in Gauhati High Court seeking compensation for the financial losses the shop owners incurred during the last few days.
