GUWAHATI, July 16 (PTI) - A high alert has been sounded here following the arrest of three Manipuri extremists after a bomb explosion at Fancy Bazar here, officials said here today.
Self-styled captain of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) Benjamin and two cadres were arrested by a joint team of CRPF and police personnel from Chandmari area last night after the explosion which did not cause any damage, officials said.
During interrogation, the insurgents revealed that their organisation, along with the anti-talk Daimary faction of NDFB, had brought four bombs of which one planted bomb at exploded at Fancy Bazar.
Additional security has been deployed in the area and the security forces are searching for the other bombs, they said, adding all police stations have been put on alert.
Rs 1 lakh in cash, laptop, several CDs and documents were seized from the militants.
