Hero launches 2016 Hero Achiever 150

By The Assam Tribune

Hero MotoCorp has launched the much awaited 2016 Achiever 150 at a price of Rs. 61,800 and Rs. 62,800 for the disc-brake variant (ex-showroom prices, Delhi). The Achiever is the Heros 150 cc premium offering, besides the plethora of commuter motorcycles it brings to the market.

The new Achiever 150 will also find the Bajaj Discover 150 and Honda Unicorn as rivals. The powertrain is the single-cylinder, air-cooled, 149.1 cc engine mated to a 5-speed transmission that makes 13.4 hp of power at 8,000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Hero claims a 0-60 kmph sprint of 5 seconds.

Just as the Passion Pro i3S got the i3S technology launched only last week, the Achiever 150 also gets the patented i3S technology. With this technology, a lot of fuel could be saved by an auto switch-off of the engine, when the motorcycle is idling. Depressing the clutch reignites the engine. While the Passion Pro i3S was rumored to come with the Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) feature, it wasnt to be but the safety tech features in the new Achiever 150.

The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,290 mm with 763 mm width, 1,080 mm height and 2,060 mm length. You can avail the 2016 Hero Achiever 150 in three color options as Panther Black Metallic, Ebony Grey Metallic and Candy Blazing Red. However, as a special limited edition offering, the three colour offering will be available only for 70 units, which will mark the Heros 70 million unit two-wheeler production.
