GUWAHATI, Aug 2 � The funeral of tea doyen Hemendra Prasad Barooah, who breathed his last on Wednesday in Bangkok, would be performed at the Hindu Dharma Sabha-Vishnu Temple, 96 Soi Charoenrat (Wat Prok), Khwaeng Thungwatdon, Khet Sathorn, Bangkok, at 2-30 pm of August 4.
Disclosing this, Joydeep Barua, Whole-Time Director of the Assam Tea Brokers told this newspaper today that the Bangkok hospital in which Barooah was undergoing medical check-up, has attributed the death of the iconic tea planter to sudden cardiac failure resulting from coronary artery disease with aurotic valve stenosis.
