ITANAGAR, Oct 10 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today inaugurated a number of healthcare infrastructure projects and laid the foundation stones of the office of the Chief Engineer, PWD Central Zone-B, and the District Secretariat at Pasighat in East Siang district.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Education Minister Honchun Ngandam, State BJP president Tapir Gao, MP Ninong Ering, local MLA Tapuk Taku and his Seppa counterpart, Tapuk Taku, and East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak were present during the programme.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly-constructed academic building of the Government School of Nursing (GNM) at the Bakin Pertin General Hospital and Training Centre. The building was constructed under the National Health Mission (NHM).
Khandu also inaugurated the 50-bed maternal and child health wing, also constructed under the NHM. Later, Khandu inaugurated the dialysis unit of the Bakin Pertin General Hospital built under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme.
Poshan awards: Three functionaries from Arunachal Pradesh have bagged the National Poshan Awards in recognition of their achievements in implementation of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month).
September was celebrated across the country as the Rashtriya Poshan Maah under the Poshan Abhiyan, the National Nutrition Mission, which is aimed at reducing stunting, undernutrition, anaemia and low birth weight in children, and sensitizing people about the importance of holistic nutrition.
The awards were presented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, which was the nodal agency for the implementation of the Poshan Maah.
Two Child Development Project Officers � Mailong Taku Moyong and Shilakani Namshum got the �block-level leadership award� and Superviser Nuri Elapra received the �individual excellence field functionary award� at a ceremony held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
