Hearty farewell to Tribune employee

GUWAHATI, Sept 1 - Haripad Dey, an employee of The Assam Tribune Group of Publications� production unit retired from service on Monday. He had joined the organisation on June 1, 1976.

Dey was given a hearty farewell at a meeting held late Monday evening on the Tribune premises.

Following all COVID-19 protocol, press manager Banajit Bhattacharya, general secretary of Assam Tribune Employees� Union (ATEU) Jiten Kalita, senior production officer Ashim Kumar Deka, production supervisor Nabajyoti Bhuyan and ATEU executive member Hiranya Kumar Barman spoke on the occasion and wished Dey a happy future.

In course of the meeting, ATEU president Shiva Prasad Deka also wished Dey over phone.

Acknowledging the good wishes of his colleagues, Dey delivered a short and emotional speech recalling the love and cooperation that he had received from all during his service period. The meeting was hosted by Prabhat Sarma.

Dey was felicitated with a gamocha, citation, sorai and an umbrella. Jitu Sarma offered the vote of thanks.
