Head Quarter clinch FCI cricket crown

GUWAHATI, March 6 � Fancied Head Quarter Zone lifted the title in the All India FCI Inter Zonal Cricket Championship with a facile eight-wicket victory against West Zone in the final at the Nehru Stadium here today.

Batting first the West Zone team could gather 112 losing eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Pranab Menon (22) and Siv Prakash Jaiswal (20) were the only notable contributors for the West Zone team.

But the target was too low for the inform Head Quarter batsmen as they smacked up the required runs in 15.1 overs losing just two wickets. Mayank Siddana (60 off 44 balls) and Binoy Choudhury (32 off 32 balls) made the tie one-sided with cracking knocks.

Binoy was adjudged man-of-the-tournament.

In the closing function Executive Director FCI NE Zone B Subhalaxmi and General Manager MP Gogoi were present as guests and gave away the prizes.
