GUWAHATI, May 12 � The Gauhati High Court today rejected the bail plea of Congress legislator Rumi Nath.
Considering the matter in the case diary, the court observed that granting bail to the controversial MLA at this juncture could hamper the investigation process.
Nath was arrested in connection with two cases registered with Dispur and Azara police stations. She was arrested last month based on revelations made by international car theft racket kingpin Anil Chauhan.
Senior advocate Niloy Dutta led the team of defence counsels, while the State of Assam was represented by BB Gogoi.
