GUWAHATI, Sept 21 - Assam made a disappointing start in the season opener as they were humiliated by Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In their second match, after the first one was washed out against Gujarat, Assam were bundled out for 81 after batting first in 30.2 overs. In reply, Haryana took just 11.2 overs to cross the Assam total losing two wickets in Chennai today.
Assam batsmen miserably failed to handle the Haryana bowlers and just two batsmen � Riyan Parag (24) and Parvez Aziz (13) managed to reach the double figure mark.
The State team had prepared well ahead of the season with fitness tests and a tour to Sri Lanka. But today�s result showed that all the efforts went in vain.
