GUWAHATI, Oct 25 � A hardcore ULFA militant identified as Paresh Deka alias Joy was arrested from the city�s Hengrabari area in the wee hours today.
A grenade, plastic explosives, three detonators, four SIM cards, a mobile handset and some incriminating documents were seized from him.
Deka, in his mid-20s, is a self-styled sergeant of the outfit�s 27th battalion. He joined the outfit in 2006 and was trained in Bangladesh. He originally hails from Sipajhar in Darrang district.
Police sources said that Deka was nabbed from a house at Hengrabari following a tip-off.
Earlier on Sunday night another ULFA cadre identified as Gautam Nath was arrested from the city�s Six Mile area. Police said that Nath was a resident of Sootea of Sonitpur and had joined the outfit in 2008.
