NAGAON, April 19 - The Hanuman Jayanti will be observed in Nagaon from April 22 to 25. On behalf of the celebration committee, Ajit Maheswari said that besides the main programme of the Jayanti -Abhishek of the idols Shri Shri Hanuman will be held on April 20.
The main programme will be held on April 22 evening with arati before the idols of Hanuman. Senior advocate of the Gauhati High Court, Shyam Sundar Harlalka, will be the chief guest in that function. Satradhikar of Norooa Satra, Devananda Dev Goswami, will also grace the occasion. Social worker Prahlad Rai Todi will chair the function.
A colourful procession will be taken out on April 23 where a cultural team from Delhi will take part. Recitation from Ramayana, bhajans, religious dance competition etc., will also be held during the festival.
President Prahlad Rai Todi and secretary Jagadish Lohia of the celebration committee urged the people to make the programme a success.
