KOKRAJHAR, Oct 28 - Kokrajhar Police last night recovered the half-burnt body of a young girl from the paddy fields near Gendrabill village under Kokrajhar Police Station.
The body was identified as that of Nandini Nath (18) of Gendrabill village of Kokrajhar district. She was missing since Friday.
Locals suspect it to be an incident of rape and murder. Sensation prevails in Kokrajhar following the incident.
Several political and non-political organisations have strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and stringent punishment to them.
