GUWAHATI, March 14 - The body of a 15-year-old girl, who had been missing from her home at Hajo since March 5, was recovered from an abandoned thatched house at Jyotikuchi hillside today. The half-burnt body was identified by her parents at the GMCH morgue.
Police said it was most likely to be a case of planned murder. Investigation is on.
Local residents alleged that the now abandoned house had been a hub of illegal activities and that two youths living there had been missing now. They felt that the unfortunate teenage girl could have been a victim of flesh trade.
