GUWAHATI, July 13 - On the basis of threat assessment, the Assam Police has added teeth to the existing security cover for Prateek Hajela, the Coordinator of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), along with his family members and his residence.
After having reviewed the threat percept, the Special Branch of the Assam Police, mandated to provide personal security cover, has also sent a compliance report to the Home Department in connection with the reviewed security setup.
The Special Branch of the Assam Police, after reviewing the threat percept, has also provided round-the-clock additional security to Hajela�s residence, besides the NRC headquarter.
�As per the compliance report, Hajela has been provided lead security, escort and also a group of personal security officers in adequate number,� said a top Assam Police official while talking to The Assam Tribune.
