AIZAWL, April 24 - Thunderstorm, accompanied by hail, lashed several parts of Mizoram last evening, leaving a trail of destruction. More than 200 tin-roofed houses were damaged by hailstones in Hliappui village of Saitual district.
Many houses were also damaged in villages adjoining Hliappui.
Local MLA L Thangmawia has rushed relief materials, including silpaulin sheets and GI roofs, to the affected villages.
The affected families have taken shelter in community halls and other houses in the villages as rainstorm continued till this evening.
