HAILAKANDI, March 17 - Hailakandi town and its suburban areas were battered by thunderstorm with heavy rains on Thursday night. The storm fury and rain have left a trail of destruction, causing damages in parts of Hailakandi town, uprooting trees and electric poles hitting power supply. However, there was no report of any casualty. Scores of households were left without power and toppled trees impeded traffic flow.
Though restoration work by APDCL is under way, it is being hampered by continuous rain.
