Hailakandi admin to provide free coaching for entrance exams

HAILAKANDI, June 16 - The Hailakandi district administration will launch an ambitious programme titled Udyom, which is a classroom-cum-study centre for helping students in preparing for entrance and competitive examinations and also make them employable in openings in government and allied institutions.

A brainchild of Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, the initiative is aimed at mitigating the circumstances of students who cannot afford expensive coaching.

�Through Udyom, we would like to introduce a serious study culture and encourage poor students who cannot afford expensive coaching,� said Assistant Commissioner Parikshit Phukan, who is closely connected with the initiative.

Udyom will be a platform for aspirants to interact with administrators, successful entrepreneurs, doctors and academicians. Resource persons and guest faculties will be roped in to mentor and aid the students. A non-residential coaching programme, classrooms equipped with audio-visual facilities and Wifi, set in a perfect academic ambience, will be provided entirely free.

As it is not a scholarship programme, students have to make their own travel arrangements.

Applicants have to appear in a selection test for admission to the training programme of a batch of 30.

Duly filled in application forms will be received till 5 pm of July 5 only at the eDistrict PFC Centre, Deputy Commissioner�s Office.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection test. The list of shortlisted candidates will be put up on the website on July 15. Selection test will be held on July 21 and results will be announced on July 29.

Free coaching at the centre will be provided from August till December.
