KOKRAJHAR, Jan 4 - BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has expressed his gratefulness to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for the New Year announcement of setting up of a Bodo-Kachari Autonomous Council for the Bodo-Kachari people living outside the BTC area and various other developmental aspects of other indigenous tribal people of the State.
Addressing mediapersons on Friday night here at the Bodoland Guest House, Hagrama Mohilary terming the Chief Minister Gogoi�s announcement as a gift for the Bodo people living outside the BTC area and hoped that the new autonomous council should be along the lines of the present Tiwa, Rabha, Hajong and Mising Autonomous Councils of Assam.
At the same time, Mohilary also urged the State Government to initiate the necessary official process for the Bodo-Kachari Autonomous Council before the notification for the Assembly elections is issued.
