Hagrama addresses massive rally at Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, April 5 � The election scenario is hotting up in 65 Kalaigaon LAC. The BPF, AGP, Congress and six other candidates are busy in the election campaigning for the Assembly election to be held on April 11.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary along with other top BPF leaders attended a massive election rally at the Kalaigaon College playground on April 4 at 2 pm. More than 10,000 people attended the rally in support of the BPF candidate Maheswar Boro. On the occasion, Hagrama said that the BPF would work according to the people�s needs and desires.

Criticising both the AGP and BJP, he said that both the parties give nice promises during election time, just to forget them later. When in power AGP and BJP leaders were busy furthering the interests of their families and property. He also did not spare his ally Congress, saying that the Congress thought only for a few upper Assam districts in the past. According to him, the BPF believed in equality and justice to all the districts of Assam. He further said that the success of the Congress party was possible only due to the support of the BPF.

On the issue of ST status to six ethnic groups of Assam, Hagrama remarked that the BPF was never against such a move. He would rather be pleased to offer his help if sought.

Biswajit Daimari, BPF MP (RS) also addressed the rally.Thanking the mammoth crowd, he declared that the 65 Kalaigaon LAC would be the number one winning LAC for the BPF. The rally was also addressed by Maheswar Boro, BPF candidate of 65 Kalaigaon LAC. Several top BPF leaders namely�Lwmsrao Daimari, EM,BTC; Dina Nath Das; Kartik Chandra Baro, MCLA, BTC and Jagadish Sarkar, MCLA, BTC attended the rally. A few district-level BPPF, BJP, AGP, AUDF and AMSU leaders formally joined the BPF in presence of the BTC chief.
