By Correspondent

HAFLONG, July 24 - In a bid to expedite the ongoing construction of the Haflong-Jatinga feeder road, the Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Juri Phukan, along with the Revenue Officer of the NC Hills Autonomous Council, Saindesh Ardao, and representatives of the construction company concerned, inspected the entire stretch of the road on Wednesday.

The construction of this feeder road from the Jatinga point to the Haflong Post Office, covering a stretch of 8 kilometres, was awarded to the construction company a long time back, but the work was delayed due to various reasons, causing a great deal of inconvenience to commuters.

Several organisations in the district demanded the completion of the road in time. The NC Hills Autonomous Council also stressed the need of the early construction of the road in greater public interest. The Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner has also made a case for the early completion of the feeder road while assuring all possible help and support from the district administration.
